Celebrate International Women's Day in London with the Lord's Taverners and Take Her Lead! #InspireInclusion

#InspireInclusion is the theme of this years International Women’s Day. With the purpose of promoting a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated At the Lord’s Taverners we are committed to improving girls' access to cricket- the benefits of this go further than just sport, our programmes increase girls' confidence, social inclusion and mental and physical wellbeing.

And so this year we hosted our inaugural International Women’s Day event in London- with a buffet lunch, speakers to inspire and the opportunity to peruse some stalls and connect with other people who are committed to making the world a more inclusive place

We were delighted to welcome Ebony Rainford-Brent MBE as our host, joined by Katie Bickerstaffe, co-CEO at Marks and Spencer and non-executive director on the board of the ECB who joined the panel along with Leigh Burns, Founder at Lacuna Sportswear, Jayde Ellis (former director of Take Her Lead ) and. Anisha Dissanayake Take Her Lead ambassador and Champion.  We also heard from Georgie Heath (Super 1s participant and volunteer) and Katie Holland from Lord's Taverners.

We came together for a celebration of the inspirational women who help to promote inclusion for girls and women, and we will also be shining a light on the development of the ways we are ensuring that cricket is more inclusive for girls' and young women in our programmes.

We would also like to celebrate and thank every single inspiration woman who supports other women- through words,
actions or philanthropy.

Profits from this event are being shared between Lord's Taverners and Take Her Lead.
