Following the Covid19 pandemic, Sri Lanka is suffering its worst economic crisis since independence. Around 5.7 million people and nearly half of its children need urgent humanitarian aid. 70% of households report reduced food consumption. Children are commonly fainting at its school through malnourishment, and are at extremely high risk of trafficking and abandonment into harmful orphanages which TFT has actively worked hard to prevent over the past 17 years.
