Large, framed oil portrait of HM The Queen painted by Brenda Johnstone, renowned portrait artist, in 1996, to celebrate the Queen accepting South Africa back into the Commonwealth.The painting catches HM The Queen being very pleased and relaxed to be in South Africa and amongst her Commonwealth colleagues. The painting was sent to London in 1997 to be exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters Exhibition. HM The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Charles have all seen the painting and had favourable written correspondence with the artist. During her career, Brenda Johnstone has painted over 100 people from all walks of life.
A portrait of HM The Queen by Chris Levine has recently sold for £75,000. Size: 5 x 4 ft. Kindly donated by Brenda Johnstone and her husband, Stewart Johnstone. 'We are so pleased to be supporting a successful charity which does so much for many children that need help.
