CAUDWELL CHILDREN 100% DONATED LOT.

This print by Mychael Barratt is a five colour silkscreen, originally done for an exhibition hosted by Bankside Gallery and the Globe Theatre commemorating the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. The piece is titled after Shakespeares most famous stage direction, Exit, pursued by a bear, from ‘A Winters Tale. It includes depictions of over 240 main characters from all of the playwright's 37 plays, colour coded into the four categories of: Comedy (Blue), Tragedy (Red), History (Green) and Problem Play (Orange). Mychael Barratt was born in Toronto, Canada, however, considers himself to be a Londoner since arriving for what was supposed to be a two-week stay thirty years ago. He is a narrative artist whose work is steeped in imagery relating to art history, literature, theatre and everything else that fills his bookshelves. He was an artist in residence for Shakespeares Globe Theatre throughout Mark Rylance's reign as Artistic Director. Edition 71/100 Framed
